Fees & Rebates

Therapy

Choosing to engage in psychological therapy is a valuable investment in your overall mental well-being. Azaan's fees are in line with other experienced and trained therapists in the field. Azaan operates on a private billing basis, and there is a gap fee associated with each session. It's important to note that due to the specialised nature of treatment, Azaan does not offer bulk billing services. Sessions are 50 minutes in duration and are eligible for medicare and private health rebates. Couples Therapy sessions are 75 minutes and are not eligible for medicare or private health rebates.  If you would like to make know more about the current fee schedule, please get in contact.

Mental Health Care Plans and Medicare Rebates

Medicare rebates are available to patients referred by a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician under the Medicare Benefits Schedule to Psychologists.  Patients can claim up to 10 psychology sessions per year under a Mental Health Care Plan. Your GP can provide a plan for you. The medicare rebate per standard online therapy session with a psychologist is $96.65. To claim the rebate, you will need to pay for the session upfront and the rebate will be processed after. We can process rebates on your behalf following the session.

Private Health Fund

Private health insurance rebates for psychological services depend on your level of cover and the health fund you are with. You can check with your health fund to find out if they have approved providers for psychological services and how much they will reimburse you. To claim the rebate, you will need to pay for the session upfront and then submit an invoice from your psychologist to your health fund or claim online or through an app. You cannot claim both Medicare and private health insurance rebates for the same session. Private health insurance rebates are different from Medicare rebates, which require a referral and a mental health care plan from your GP.
